SWKI: 9th Swiss Hygiene Conference 2027

The conference focuses on current issues relating to air and water hygiene. It is aimed at professionals involved in planning, construction and operation, as well as at public authorities and other stakeholders responsible for hygiene requirements in buildings and technical installations.

Renowned speakers from the worlds of research, professional practice and public authorities will shed light on current developments and challenges. In the field of air hygiene, the focus will be on, amongst other things, the measurement of air flow rates, new ventilation routes in accordance with SIA 382/3, requirements for air-handling units, and the assessment of indoor air quality.

In the afternoon, the conference will focus on water hygiene. Topics to be discussed include current developments in Bern, the practical implementation of the Food Act, the issue of regulation versus personal responsibility, cold water that is too warm, water hygiene in hospital construction, Legionella in care homes and hygiene factors in evaporative cooling.

In addition to the specialist presentations, the hygiene conference offers opportunities for personal exchange with experts and industry colleagues through an accompanying exhibition, networking, a standing lunch and a drinks reception afterwards. 

The event is open to the public. The number of participants is limited to 200. Early birds who register by 1 December 2026 will benefit from a discount; the registration deadline is 17 January 2027.
